Back in the cage and in one piece..........just!
25th April 2013
Caged Tigers are all really proud to say that Steven Bignell, the Director of our Technical Division, fulfilled a lifetime ambition of running in and finishing the Virgin London Marathon last Sunday.
Steven said "It was the hardest thing I have ever, ever ever done. It was Great day, fantastic support and quite emotional. After being used to training in sub zero temperatures the heat affected me, my hydration strategy went out of the window and my legs went at 21m. I finally hobbled in at 4.57. It was 27 mins slower than I expected, but what the hell."
Alongside this superb effort Steven also managed to raise circa £1,250 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a fantastic charity close to so many hearts.
Well done Steven - from all the team at Caged Tigers.
Don't forget to wear the Tiger Suit next year.

Four years ago this week.......the Tigers were born.
7th February 2013
Happy Birthday to you.....Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Caged Tigers Happy Birthday to you!
Caged Tigers are delighted to announce we have reached our four year birthday.
It was four years ago this week when Lilly Allen was top of the charts with her song The Fear. Very apt considering our feelings at the time contained a considerable degree of fear coupled with a lot of optimisim and excitement.
It hasn't always been an easy ride but every day it has always been a journey well worth taking.
So here's to the next four years.................and beyond.
From the Tiger Team.
Watch out, Watch out.....There's a Tiger about.
He's loose on the streets of London!
4th February 2013Steven Bignell, Director of our Technical Division, is fullfilling his lifelong ambition to run The London Marathon.
Having seen 3 families loose loved ones to the fight against cancer during 2012 Steven has decided to run for Macmillan Cancer Support. Steven is proud to support this superb charity who offer so much to the sons and daughters who have lost fathers, wives who have lost husbands and sons have lost mothers.
We are all really proud of Steven and have shared in his pains, sprains, gripes, niggles and injuries during his extensive training regime.
If you feel compelled to donate it would be greatly, greatly appreciated, no amount is too small and no amount is too large. Or, if you know of anybody that would be interested in Steven's cause and could help, please share the link below....

Creative thinking for growing SME's. A new, innovative and flexible payment structure.
19 October 2011
A Case Study.
Caged Tigers were approached by Burnside Telecom Ltd, a leading manufacturer of cellular wireless terminals, to come up with a pricing solution which would allow them to spread the cost of their extensive growth strategy across a number of months.
Rather than a traditional contingency solution, which would bring about ‘spikes’ in Burnside Telecom’s monthly expenditure, we both agreed on a set monthly retainer which remained at a fixed amount regardless of the number of hires in any one month.
This enabled Burnside Telecom to know exactly what they would be paying for their team growth whilst spreading the cost to manageable monthly amounts for the duration of the assignment. Caged Tigers also agreed on a fixed amount of time per month which was solely dedicated to the Burnside Telecom recruitment assignment and therefore ensured the commitment and delivery of their recruitment strategy within the pre-agreed timescales.
Colin Aitken, CEO of Burnside Telecom, said “In a time of significant growth within our business Caged Tigers offered us a flexible and dynamic solution which helped us achieve our team growth in a stress free, well managed and realistic fashion. Caged Tigers knew how to partner our business and with their wealth of experience they really added value to what Burnside Telecom is trying to achieve.”
Whilst we understand this costing solution will not suit every business it is ideally placed to enable a dynamic SME with a scheduled and sustained period of recruitment to achieve significant savings in both time and money.

EMC sector growth continues at a pace.
13 August 2010
Having predicted considerable growth within the RF space during 2010, Caged Tigers, as a result of continued market focus, has also seen a significant increase in headcount across several key players in the Electromagnetic Compatibility industry.
With 6 out of the leading 10 UK EMC businesses all looking at new recruits in the next 2 quarters it appears to be the a strong future.
These figures emerge at a time when the wider economy appears to lack the same confidence and predicted growth. Long may the EMC industry buck this trend!

Mobile data traffic overtakes voice traffic for first time.
14 April 2010
Data traffic has grown by 280% over two years
Fascinating article.....
www.mobiletoday.co.uk/Mobile_Exec/Mobile_data_traffic_overtakes_voice_traffic_for_first_time.aspx
Network infrastructure company Ericsson found that data traffic has grown globally by 280% over the last two years and is predicted to double year on year for the next five years. The figures emerge at a time when operators and manufacturers continue to look towards social networking and connected devices as an area of growing revenue.
Over 200 mobile operators in 60 countries are deploying and promoting Facebook mobile products, with over 100 million active users accessing Facebook through their mobile devices.
The team at Caged Tigers certainly agree with this article. Jason Blakemore, Managing Director, said "This is a significant milestone across the mobile industry and is certainly proving the case with our recent client activity. We are seeing unprecedented levels of recruitment activity within the social networking arena across the EMEA region."
‘Our view that the appeal of anywhere, anytime connectivity will continue to drive demand from the operators and the need for their suppliers to bring in top talent.’

2010 - Year of the Tiger!
15 February 2010
Following the Chinese New Year which fell on February 14th this year, 2010 is the Year of the Tiger.
In Imperial China, where the dragon is the insignia of the emperors, the tiger is the military emblem of the highest supreme commanders of the army symbolizing fearlessness and victory.
We would like to wish all our clients and candidates a Happy New Year and hope that this year all your Tigers are Caged Tigers!
RF testing market due to expand in 2010
8 February 2010
As recruiters with a considerable degree of focus in the Wireless Test and Measurement space there appears to be considerable optimism for the coming year. With specific attention on the RF technology testing front, a fresh approach to testing seems to be being adopted due to the rapid development and growth of new communication technologies such as LTE.
Moreover, the convergence of technologies, while enabling the integration of more applications, has also increased opportunities as well as challenges for vendors of RF test equipment.
Caged Tigers is already seeing in 2010, increases in client activity for the need to increase their senior level teams to develop and test handsets to meet the extreme requirements of new LTE networks which will, in turn, accelerate due to the increased deployments of these networks.
